Woodstock Sustainability Tour - Join Us For a Unique Opportunity to Tour a LEED Platinum Building and Other Sustainable Sites (NNW)

Please join the North/Northwest Suburban Branch of the USGBC - Illinois Chapter for an day of networking and education. This event will begin with a presentation about Woodstock’s green initiatives by Mayor Sager at the Stage Left Café in the historic Opera House. The tour will then visit three sites around Woodstock including the Other World Computing facility (a LEED Platinum certified green building with renewable wind energy), the Hennen Nature Preserve (a public-private partnership between the City of Woodstock and the Land Conservancy of McHenry county), and Salute Farm and Vineyard (an organic farm supporting sustainable local agriculture). The event provides an opportunity for everyone to experience this wonderful city and visit local projects that have implemented green building and sustainability practices.

Agenda:
10:01 Metra arrives at Woodstock station (Union Pacific North/Northwest line-train #703)
10:01–10:30 visit and enjoy the Farmers Market/Woodstock Square (featuring live music)
10:30–10:45 Registration/networking at the Opera House, tours available
10:45–10:50 Introduction, meet at the Stage Left Café
10:50-11:15 Presentation by Mayor Sager
11:15 Load the Biofuel bus to begin tour which includes:
 - Other World Computing building tour (LEED Platinum Building)
 - Land Conservancy/Hennen Nature Preserve (ecological restoration and public/private partnership)
 - Salute Organic Farm and Vineyard (visit a local organic farm and enjoy a corn boil)
3:00 Travel back to Woodstock Square
3:48 Metra departs from Woodstock station (Union Pacific North/Northwest line-train #720)
